"People order each other to smile because they feel uncomfortable around people who are not smiling, especially when those people are women (or are read as such). Women are expected to be nice and sweet, to make other people feel comfortable. To get this look, all you need are two ladders and some wood planks. Paint the ladders and the wood if you want, then slide the wood planks through the ladders so they are resting on the ladder steps.
